Ziosoft Announces Launch of Ziostation™ Web
Advanced visualization innovations for the Ziostation system will be unveiled at RSNA 2008.
Redwood City, Calif. November 13, 2008 -- Ziosoft, Inc., a leader in advanced visualization and analysis software for medical imaging, will debut its new Ziostation™ Web (v3.0) at the 94th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) at Booth #7957 (North Hall).
The Ziostation Web expands the reach of Ziosoft's revolutionary Ziostation thin-client 3D system to virtually any computer with a web browser and requires no installation of client software or plug-ins. Ziostation Web provides essential 3D analysis and real-time collaboration tools on a secure website without the need for any proprietary or specialized hardware. Original and saved images as well as reports can be shared by authorized users from a centralized source to optimize the flow of care.
"Ziostation Web takes our powerful thin-client 3D system to a new dimension" said Ziosoft chief operating officer Mark Koeniguer. "Clinicians have the need to view and interact with 3D images at a moment's notice wherever they may be. The Ziostation Web removes the barriers of accessibility while maintaining performance and image integrity."
The Ziostation system is based on a highly scalable, unified thin-client architecture that requires no proprietary or specialized hardware components. The Ziostation also has the ability to load-balance case processing and does not necessitate a separate standalone workstation to supplement its functionality.
In addition to Ziostation Web, other advanced features of the Ziostation system that will be demonstrated at RSNA include:
- A full suite of advanced 3D analysis tools including vessel/coronary analysis, colon analysis and multi-volume fusion.
- Workflow optimization tools including a customizable user interface, configurable action macros, and anatomy-specific automatic segmentation.
- The CT cardiac function, CT brain perfusion, and calcium scoring applications currently pending clearance by the FDA.
- The works-in-progress 4D CT brain perfusion, MR cardiac function and integrated Medicsight™ colon CAD applications.
- The proof-of-concept Ziostation application for the iPhone™.
"We are excited to demonstrate our latest innovations at this year's RSNA," said Ziosoft director of marketing, Terry Chang. "User needs for advanced visualization and analysis have changed over the past 10 years but existing solutions have not kept pace. The Ziostation system addresses the changing needs by providing clinicians access to sophisticated and powerful tools whether inside or outside the workplace without sacrificing performance."

Ziosoft's 3D Medical Imaging Software Showcased with Intel Japan's New Quad-Core Processor
Tokyo, Japan, November 20, 2006 --- Ziosoft Inc., a leader in 3D medical imaging software, was selected by Intel Japan as an application provider to showcase the performance of Intel's new Xeon 5300 series quad-core processor at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, Japan on November 15th, 2006.
Intel Japan demonstrated its quad-core processor using the ZIOSTATION, Ziosoft's flagship 3D software installed on two PCs, one with a Xeon 5355 quad-core processor and the other with a Xeon 5160 dual-core processor. Quad-core processor showed a 70% improvement in speed compared with dual-core.
In application-level software, a maximum of only 50% performance increase can usually be expected due to the technical difficulties of parallel processing. Ziosoft achieved with its ZIOSTATION, an unprecedented level of parallel processing based on its innovative technology. This capability enabled Ziosoft to utilize the full capacity of a greatly enhanced CPU, which was proven by the demonstration.
"We are pleased that Ziosoft was selected by Intel Japan to demonstrate the capability of the new quad-core processor," said Kazuhiko Matsumoto, Chief Executive Officer for Ziosoft. "Few applications are so advanced as to utilize the full capability of the quad-core processor and this is a testimony to the leading edge technological achievement of Ziosoft."
