Leader in Advanced Visualization Applies Supercomputing Algorithms to State-of-the-Art Patient Care
Atlanta – March 11, 2010 -- Ziosoft, Inc., a leader in advanced visualization and functional analytics for the medical care market, will introduce the company's PhyZiodynamic™ solutions for its Ziostation™ system at the annual American College of Cardiology (ACC) congress being held in Atlanta, March 14 – 16, 2010. PhyZiodynamic technology allows clinicians to automatically apply supercomputing algorithms for the analysis of internal organs, vessels, tumors and other regions of interest in multiple dimensions, from 2D to 5D.
"PhyZiodynamic technology provides imaging solutions that are truly remarkable compared to traditional volumetric rendering," said Sung Woo Park, MD, PhD, professor of the Department of Medicine, Cardiac and Vascular Center, Samsung Medical Center, Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine. "When I realized I could clearly see the biomechanics of the papillary muscles, it was apparent there was something very significant here. I believe this technology has the potential to offer a substantial impact on diagnostic speed and accuracy in support of state-of-the-art patient care, especially in cardiology."
PhyZiodynamics solutions are based on supercomputing technology originally developed for dynamic, instantaneous weather pattern analysis. Over the years, supercomputing has evolved from a large room of host computer hardware to a centralized, single CPU-based processing server allowing multiple concurrent users throughout the enterprise system. This has resulted in several significant advantages including superb image quality, optimized user efficiency and maximum cost effectiveness for an extensive range of clinical applications.
The technology offers scalable software solutions, eliminating the need for costly, multiple proprietary or specialized GPU rendering boards. It integrates seamlessly with standard, off-the-shelf hardware and expands the life of expensive modalities such as CT and MR.
"PhyZiodynamic technology provides measurable, reproducible, dynamic outcomes using existing digital modalities already located within the facility thereby expanding their utility and life," said Rob Royea, vice president of sales and marketing for Ziosoft. "Through the application of advanced algorithmic processes, the technology reduces noise without compromising image integrity, allowing the physician to increase diagnostic confidence. It also handles extremely large sets of data on an enterprise basis, rendering images and analysis automatically for greater patient throughput without the need for proprietary or specialized GPU rendering hardware."
According to Royea, the key to Ziosoft technology is uncompressed, lossless images which ensure the integrity of all the data at all times. Most importantly, because it is software-based, images are accessible from the office, home or enterprise without the need for proprietary hardware. PhyZiodynamic technology is compatible with any DICOM imaging modality including CT, MR, PET, SPECT and Angio. This allows advanced diagnostic applications for multiple medical specialties such as cardiology, radiology, neurology, orthopedics and oncology. Ziosoft Debuts French and German Translations for Leading Advanced Visualization Software at ECR
Translations Designed to Run on Country-Specific, Standard Operating Systems
Vienna – March 8, 2010 -- Ziosoft, Inc., a leader in advanced visualization and functional analytics for the medical care market, will debut both French and German translations of the Company's revolutionary 3D, 4D and 5D functional analytics software at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) being held in Vienna, March 5-8, 2010. The translations are also designed to run on country-specific, standard operating systems.
"We are making a major commitment to the European market as we begin introducing the first of several translations," said Bart Hendriks, managing director of Europe for Ziosoft. "Most importantly, we want to allow seamless integration of our leading visualization software into the facilities existing operating system versus simply translating the language alone. This is uncommon in our market, but we believe it is critical for customer ease-of-use and successful implementation."
Ziosoft will be showcasing its Ziostation™ system which is based on PhyZiodynamic™ solutions. Underlying these solutions is supercomputing technology originally developed for dynamic, instantaneous weather pattern analysis.
"Similar to our English version, the French and German Ziostation systems are based on open architecture technology that enable extremely advance applications such as 5D functional analytics," said Hendriks. "Because it is software based without proprietary hardware, our clients can use off-the-shelf hardware and access images or information from anywhere throughout the enterprise system. This enables them to instantaneously apply supercomputing technology to state-of-the-art patient care."
Ziosoft technology provides uncompressed, lossless images which ensure the integrity of all the data at all times. PhyZiodynamic technology is compatible with any DICOM imaging modality including CT, MR, PET, SPECT and Angio. This allows advanced diagnostic applications for multiple medical specialties such as radiology, neurology, orthopedics, cardiology and oncology. Ziosoft has received regulatory clearance for several applications including CT brain perfusion, CT coronary analysis and calcium scoring, as well as both MR and CT cardiac function analysis.

Ziosoft Introduces PhyZiodynamic™ 5D Functional Analytics
Leader in Advanced Visualization Applies Supercomputing Algorithms to State-of-the-Art Patient Care
Vienna – March 4, 2010 -- Ziosoft, Inc., a leader in advanced visualization and functional analytics for the medical care market, will introduce its PhyZiodynamic™ solutions for the Company's Ziostation™ system at the annual European Congress of Radiology (ECR) being held in Vienna, March 5 – 8, 2010. PhyZiodynamic technology allows clinicians to automatically apply supercomputing algorithms for the analysis of internal organs, vessels, tumors and other regions of interest in multiple dimensions, from 2D to 5D.
"The high temporal resolution of the post-processed 4D images of the heart allows not only for the functional assessment of ventricular function, but also for atrial function," said Matthias Gutberlet, MD, professor of cardiac radiology, Leipzig Cardiac Center in Germany. "In the near future, this could have an important impact on the evaluation of patients after atrial ablation procedures. For example, the actual course of treatment of atrial fibrillation could be affected based on the information provided to us by this technology."
This allows advanced diagnostic applications for multiple medical specialties such as radiology, neurology, orthopedics, cardiology and oncology. Ziosoft has received regulatory clearance for several applications including CT coronary analysis and calcium scoring, as well as both MR and CT cardiac function analysis.

Ziosoft Receives FDA Clearance for CT Cardiac Function Analysis and Cardiac Calcium Scoring Applications
Additional Cardiac Applications Expand the Clinical Utility of the Ziostation® Thin-Client Advanced Visualization System
Redwood City, CA, April 7, 2009 -- Ziosoft®, Inc., a leader in advanced visualization and analysis software for medical imaging, today announced that it has received 510(k) clearance from the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market two additional applications for use with the Ziostation thin-client system.
These applications enhance the productivity and diagnostic capability of physicians when evaluating patients' heart health. Both the cardiac function analysis and calcium scoring applications can be accessed throughout the enterprise on the Ziostation thin-client system to provide physicians with improved efficiency and real-time collaboration when assessing results from a CT cardiac scan.
The calcium scoring application is used by physicians to help determine whether a patient may be at increased risk for coronary artery disease. Ziosoft's calcium scoring application features valuable tools for the clinician such as concurrent reading of the calcium analysis adjacent to the original data set, which allows for efficient and precise analysis of data. The cardiac function application enables physicians to conduct a cardiac functional assessment and includes Ziosoft's unique tools such as automatic left ventricle segmentation, peak filling rate (PFR) and peak ejection rate (PER) in addition to the standard functional assessment calculations. The cardiac function application also includes the capability to automatically generate "bulls-eye" maps and a time volume graph to aid in the physician's evaluation.
According to the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) every year since 1900, except 1918, cardiovascular disease accounted for more deaths than any other single cause or group of causes of death in the United States. Nearly 2,400 Americans die of cardiovascular disease each day, an average of one death every 37 seconds. These new applications from Ziosoft will contribute to more efficient interpretation and improved communication of test results, leading to enhanced quality of care for patients.
"We are proud of our long history of developing software applications which aid physicians in evaluating diseases" said Kazuhiko Matsumoto, Ziosoft's chief executive officer. "These latest applications will be added to Ziosoft's suite of applications for a robust cardiac tool set for the market."

Ziosoft's 3D Medical Imaging Software Showcased with Intel Japan's New Quad-Core Processor
Tokyo, Japan, November 20, 2006 --- Ziosoft Inc., a leader in 3D medical imaging software, was selected by Intel Japan as an application provider to showcase the performance of Intel's new Xeon 5300 series quad-core processor at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, Japan on November 15th, 2006.
Intel Japan demonstrated its quad-core processor using the ZIOSTATION, Ziosoft's flagship 3D software installed on two PCs, one with a Xeon 5355 quad-core processor and the other with a Xeon 5160 dual-core processor. Quad-core processor showed a 70% improvement in speed compared with dual-core.
In application-level software, a maximum of only 50% performance increase can usually be expected due to the technical difficulties of parallel processing.
